Explore Branson’s Best Ice Cream Shops: A Sweet Guide

Branson isn't just about live shows and attractions—it's also a paradise for ice cream lovers like us! Whether you crave homemade scoops, soft-serve frozen custard, or exotic small-batch flavors, Branson has a sweet treat for everyone.
Last year I set out to find the best ice cream shops in town so I could recommend only the most delicious spots to our guests. Tough job? Absolutely—but someone had to do it! Here’s my guide to the best ice cream in Branson, from classic parlors to innovative food trucks.
Best Homemade Ice Cream:
🍨 Nettie Marie’s at Keeter Center
At Nettie Marie’s inside the Keeter Center at College of the Ozarks, the ice cream isn’t just made onsite—the cows that provide the cream graze right here! It doesn’t get fresher than that.
I tried the Bobcat Crunch and Banana Pudding flavors—both were outstanding. On top of that, the ice cream is served by the hardworking students of “Hard Work U,” who help run the entire Keeter Center as part of their tuition-free education.
Best for: Farm-fresh, homemade ice cream in a beautiful, upscale setting.
Runner-up:
The Sweet Shack
Stepping into The Sweet Shack in Hollister feels like stumbling upon a hidden gem. Their homemade flavors stand out, and the Ice Cream Flight—which includes unique flavors like Maple Bourbon Bacon and Peach Italian Ice—was an absolute highlight.
Beyond the ice cream, what makes this place special is the warm hospitality of the owner, Lynn, who makes every visit feel personal. If you're in the Hollister area, be sure to check out their new location!
Best for: A cozy, local ice cream shop with handcrafted flavors and a welcoming feel.
Best Old-Time Ice Cream Shop:
🍨 Mr. B’s Ice Cream Parlor
If you love nostalgic ice cream parlors, Mr. B’s in Downtown Branson is a must-visit. The decor takes you back in time, and the service is just as friendly and old-fashioned as you’d hope for.
I especially love customizing my banana splits here. My last visit? I went all in with an Ozark Turtle banana split—loaded with pecans, caramel, hot fudge, whipped cream, and cherries.
Best for: A classic ice cream parlor experience with customizable treats.
Runner-Ups:
Hannah’s Ice Cream Parlor (Silver Dollar City)
Walking into Hannah’s feels like stepping back in time. Freshly churned ice cream served in waffle cones makes this the perfect sweet stop while exploring Silver Dollar City.
Best for: Theme park nostalgia and freshly churned ice cream.
Sammy Lane’s Sweets & Treats
Located at Shepherd of the Hills, Sammy Lane’s is a dessert wonderland with ice cream, candy, and all things sweet. It’s a great way to end a day of Branson adventures!
Best for: A mix of ice cream, candy, and treats in a fun setting.

Best Soft Ice Cream:
🍨 Andy’s Frozen Custard
For Branson locals and visitors alike, Andy’s Frozen Custard is a non-negotiable must-visit.
We’ve been stopping by Andy’s on Hwy 76 since our kids were little, and we still love it just as much today. The lines are often long, but that just proves how good their concretes and sundaes are. (Pro tip: If you’re passing through Springfield, hit up an Andy’s there instead to skip the Branson crowd.)
Our go-to order? The Ozark Turtle concrete—thick, creamy frozen custard with caramel, hot fudge, and pecans. Absolutely worth it! I also like to change it up by substituting fresh raspberries for the pecans or the hot fudge. Yum!
Best for: Classic frozen custard and Branson’s most famous concretes.
Best Frozen Yogurt:
🍨 Sweet Susie's
At Sweet Susie’s on Green Mountain Drive, you can create your own frozen yogurt masterpiece. It’s a great spot for those who like to mix and match flavors and toppings, though be prepared to spend around $10-12 for a full cup.
Best for: Self-serve frozen yogurt with unlimited mix-and-match options.
Best Ice Cream Truck:
🍨 YOLO Rolled Ice Cream Food Truck
YOLO Rolled Ice Cream in the Food Truck Park on Hwy 248 offers a unique dessert experience. Their method? They pour fresh cream onto a -20-degree plate, freeze it instantly, and roll it into perfect little spirals.
I tried the Strawberry Fields flavor and was hooked. They also have Italian gelatos at their indoor location on the strip, so you get two great experiences in one!
Best for: A fun, interactive rolled ice cream experience.
Best Eclectic/Unconventional Ice Cream:
🍨 The Funky Twig
If you love adventurous flavors, The Funky Twig in Kimberling City is where you need to go. Their artisanal, small-batch creations include flavors like , yDark Chocolate Almond Cherry, Cranberry Pear Sorbet, Pecan Pie, and S’mores.
Not sure what to try? Order a Funky Flight, which lets you sample six flavors at once. My personal favorite? The toasted buttery sweetness of Roasted Corn and the salty-sweet Maple Bourbon Bacon. Even if you're not into wild flavors, there's something here for everyone.
Best for: Adventurous ice cream lovers who want to try unique, small-batch flavors.
Final Scoop: Exploring Branson’s Ice Cream Scene
Each of these spots offers more than just delicious ice cream—they showcase the local flavors, creativity, and charm of Branson. From farm-fresh scoops at Nettie Marie’s to concretes at Andy’s and funky creations at The Funky Twig, there’s a sweet treat for everyone.
